Northwest Wine Radio

Wine Should be Fun! Northwest Wine Radio is a weekly, hour-long show broadcast on radio stations across the Pacific Northwest. Not your typical wine show, Northwest Wine Radio features interviews with the winemakers, brewers, distillers, and cider makers to get the fun stories behind the bottle. No technical talking here; we're sharing real stories about the real people in the industry. Grab a glass of your favorite and tune in for fun stories, food pairing suggestions, news about upcoming events...all without the attitude! Host Brian Calvert and his team present a different kind of wine show: Light, fun, informal, yet informative and relevant to anyone who drinks local and supports local producers. Again, this show celebrates an entire industry of producers who make fantastic products right here in our own backyard. More information: NorthwestWineRadio.com

(2018)  First there was Duck Pond, then came Desert Wind Winery.  We meet the Fries family, the force behind two well-known names in Northwest wine.  And each label highlights the best of the state in which it calls home.

Then we have a good conversation with the family behind Fremont Mischief distillery in Seattle.  It's fun to hear the story of the operation, but REALLY fun when our friend, winemaker John Bieglow of JM Cellars stops in, and the winemaker asks the distiller some good questions.  There might even be a deal brokered right on our show!

Join host Brian Calvert for all this, plus Master of Wine Bob Betz of Betz Family Winery stops by to answer our wine questions, Justin Stiefel of Heritage Distilling Company mixes-up our "Drink of the Week." and Idaho Wine presents "Bites and Bottles," a fun food pairing with wine, craft beer, and spirits featuring Chef Kathy Casey.

(2018)  While the name sure does sound presidential, it's the wine that gets top billing at this place!  We sit down with the people behind Isenhower Cellars of Walla Walla, and talk about decades of delicious wine.

Then we meet the guys behind Hanson Vineyards and Franchere Wine Company.  Two different operations, based in the same Willamette Valley location.  The guys share in the labor. and are each able to create unique wines.

(2018)  Our toast to "Taste Washington Wine Month" continues with a visit Steve Warner, head of the Washington Wine Commission.  Steve tells us all about the fun events planned for the rest of the month.

We also get to meet a unique winemaker who's putting her own special touch on two different Northwest labels:  Battle Creek Winery & Primarius.   Then, we meet the winemaker with an affinity for race horses...so much so...the wines of Love that Red Winery are named after some racetrack favorites.

(2018)  We kick off "Taste Washington Wine Month" with a visit from one of the state's premiere female winemakers.  She shares a really fascinating look at the "feminine" influence on the delicious wine made at Warr-King Wines in Woodinville.

Then, we have a conversation with the Northwest's "first family" of craft brewing.  The Kemper family is building it's latest dynasty, and they stop by the share the story of Washington's Chuckanut Brewery.
