Northwest Wine Radio

Wine Should be Fun! Northwest Wine Radio is a weekly, hour-long show broadcast on radio stations across the Pacific Northwest. Not your typical wine show, Northwest Wine Radio features interviews with the winemakers, brewers, distillers, and cider makers to get the fun stories behind the bottle. No technical talking here; we're sharing real stories about the real people in the industry. Grab a glass of your favorite and tune in for fun stories, food pairing suggestions, news about upcoming events...all without the attitude! Host Brian Calvert and his team present a different kind of wine show: Light, fun, informal, yet informative and relevant to anyone who drinks local and supports local producers. Again, this show celebrates an entire industry of producers who make fantastic products right here in our own backyard. More information: NorthwestWineRadio.com

(2019) One of the Northwest's most beautiful areas has become one of the region's newest AVAs.

This week, we take you to Elkton, home of River's Edge Winery, where we hear their tory and better understand the difference a little coastal influence can make!  Then, we're off to Bend for a look behind the scenes at Oregon Spirit Distillers.  And if you enjoy pairing wine with food, you'll enjoy our conversation with the people at the Inn at Port Ludlow, where they plan every meal around a delicious local wine.

Join host Brian Calvert for all this, plus Master of Wine Bob Betz of Betz Family Winery stops by to answer our wine questions, Justin Stiefel of Heritage Distilling Company mixes-up our "Drink of the Week," and the "Wine Moms" will have a wine recommendation.

(2019)  When Rapunzel lets her hair down from this high tower, someone usually climbs up with a great glass of wine!

This week we meet the people behind Hightower Cellars of Red Mountain, and learn the story behind their success.  Then, we're off to Mount Vernon, where the historic Skagit River Brewery is under new ownership, and making some new brew!  Our tour then takes us to Snoqualmie with a visit to Mount Si Winery for the fun story behind this deliciously small operation

(2019)  They've been a family power in Spanish wine for over a century, and now they've picked the Pacific Northwest as their new home.

This week, we get acquainted with the Spaniard and the French winemaker who have set-up shop in Walla Walla at Valdemar Estates.  We also take a road trip to the beautiful Skagit Valley to learn the story behind Valley Shine Distillery.  And, we visit with the couple behind Season Cellars of Roseburg, and get a better feel for all the delicious varietals being produced in the Umpqua River Valley.

(2019)  So, you don't fit-in perfectly.  Don't worry about it: It's perfectly fine to be a little odd.

That's what we discovered on a recent visit to British Columbia, home of Odd Society Spirits.  The Vancouver distillery was built in a former motorcycle shop, and their products will take you on quite a ride!  We also learn the story behind Ancestry Cellars on beautiful Lake Chelan, and meet the man behind Chateau Noelle Winery, a unique wine-slash-future BNB in the Snoqualmie Valley.
