Northwest Wine Radio

Wine Should be Fun! Northwest Wine Radio is a weekly, hour-long show broadcast on radio stations across the Pacific Northwest. Not your typical wine show, Northwest Wine Radio features interviews with the winemakers, brewers, distillers, and cider makers to get the fun stories behind the bottle. No technical talking here; we're sharing real stories about the real people in the industry. Grab a glass of your favorite and tune in for fun stories, food pairing suggestions, news about upcoming events...all without the attitude! Host Brian Calvert and his team present a different kind of wine show: Light, fun, informal, yet informative and relevant to anyone who drinks local and supports local producers. Again, this show celebrates an entire industry of producers who make fantastic products right here in our own backyard. More information: NorthwestWineRadio.com

(2017)  Do a little dance, drink a little wine, and if your heart races too much...at least there's a doctor in the house at Cubanisimo Vineyards in Oregon's Willamette Valley. We'll meet the good doctor (and his very lovely nurse) on this unforgettable visit.

Have you ever tried wine that's Kosher?  What's different about it, you ask?  We wondered the same thing, and asked Jay Buchsbaum, Director of Education with the Royal Wine Corporation about it.  We also visit Lewiston, Idaho to meet the couples behind Vine 46 Wines.

All this, plus Master of Wine Bob Betz of Betz Family Winery stops by to answer our wine questions, Justin Stiefel of Heritage Distilling Company mixes-up our "Drink of the Week." and Chef Kathy Casey joins us with a fun food pairing featuring wine, craft beer, and spirits!

(2017)  There's some new activity brewing near the site of the old Olympia brewery, and it's goal is to make Tumwater a brewing and distilling destination.  Our friend Justin Stiefel and his Heritage Distilling Company will be among the first tenants of the new Tumwater Craft District.

Speaking of brewing, we take a trip to Newport, Oregon to visit the Rogue Ales & Spirits World Headquarters to talk with brewing legend John Maier.  We also get to meet winemaker Jason Gorski of Delille Cellars, and find out more about taking the reigns of one of Washington's original wineries.

(2017)  The next time you think you don't have much free time, consider Neil Glancy.  The winemaker makes really good vino for Crossings Winery, and has now launched his own label called C Sebastian.  And when he's not working on these wines, he's helping others make good wine.  Sound like a good guy to know, right?

With a name like Mollusk Brewing, you can imagine there's an interesting story behind this Seattle brewery.  And there is!  Wit til you hear the names of some of their brews.

(2017) This week, we take a trip to Walla Walla's Pepper Bridge Winery & Amavi Cellars to learn the story behind this estate operation.

Then it's off to British Columbia, a growing power in the world of craft brewing.  We get a chance to sit down with the people behind Postmark Brewing, who do their work beside a winery and fine restaurant, all in a very historic building on Vancouver's waterfront.

(2017) We spend some time this week re-discovering the delicious wine made in Idaho, and end-up stumbling upon Huston Vineyards.  They're the fun people who live on Chicken Dinner Road.  No joke...they even have the label to prove it!

And if you thought they spelled Houston a little different, wait until meet our Chelan wine makers.  They go really "old school" with the spelling of Tsillan Cellars (yes, it's pronounced "Chelan").

Fortunately, our guest brewer throws no spelling curve balls.  They just make really good beer at Bale Breaker Brewery.
